What building code does Oklahoma City, OK use?
Oklahoma City, OK currently enforces the 2018 International Building Code. Oklahoma City adopts its own code editions. OKC (a home-rule charter city subject to OUBCC statewide minimums) re-adopted the 2018 IBC/IRC/IMC/IPC/IFC by ordinances effective 2024-03-01 while its energy code remains the 2009 IECC; the municipal code (Ch. 18) still cites the 2017 NEC, which conflicts with the more recent OUBCC statewide minimum of the 2023 NEC effective 2024-09-14 โ the state minimum governs, so 2023 is reported here with the conflict noted.
