What building code does Mesa, AZ use?
Mesa, AZ currently enforces the 2024 International Building Code. Mesa adopts its own code editions. Mesa moved from the 2018 I-Codes/2017 NEC to the full 2024 ICC family (including IFGC and ISPSC) plus the 2023 NEC, each with city amendments, for permit applications submitted on or after January 8, 2026; already-submitted or under-construction projects remain on the 2018 codes.
