What building code does Memphis, TN use?
Memphis, TN currently enforces the 2021 International Building Code. Memphis adopts its own code editions. Memphis and Shelby County's joint Office of Construction Code Enforcement adopted the 2021 I-Codes and 2020 NEC with local amendments via parallel joint ordinances in December 2021 (enforced from Jan 1, 2022); the fire code is enforced separately by the Memphis Fire Prevention Bureau, whose official page still states the 2009 IFC is in force (possibly stale — verify with MFD before relying on it).
